Form factor: ATX
CPU socket type: AM4 (1st and 2nd gen ryzen CPU support)
Reviews: 3/5 stars on NewEgg
Our thoughts: A lot of focus on the lighting factors and RGB. It supports Ryzen processors, but the reviews are not great for this board. It has a dual bios which is great, but users report that “you’re gonna need it” because the BIOS tends to have problems. A number of users have reported after updating the BIOS that the board bricks itself.
Would we buy it?
No; we don’t care too much about light shows. Functionality is more important in this case.
Price: $249.99 as of Sept 8 2018 (a little on the expensive side, you pay more for the light show)
If you are more for the light show than other things, you’ll be happy with the capability to program lights in two different sections. There is also different lighting zones across the board, so you can setup the RGB lights in any way you want. There are 7 different lighting effects. There is also a GIGABYTE RGB Fusion APP which you can download on your phone and play with the RGB lighting setup.
Audio: The audio on this board is pretty good, it features 2 audio outputs and Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 Software. Typically, you’d have to dish out some cash for a good audio card to get software like that. As you may imagine, it provides a good clarity of audio, good sound experience and capability to play with bass levels, treble levels, equalizers and the whole gamut. The board boasts high end audio capacitors.
Networking: Dual gigabit – ’nuff said. However, unless you are using your PC as a server or have a need for multiple NIC ports, we’re not too sure how useful this is. Feel free to submit your comments regarding this and we will review them.
Memory slots: The board has room for 4 RAM DIMMS, with support for DDR4 3200(O.C.)/ 2933(O.C.)/ 2667*/ 2400/ 2133
